My 7yo and 5yo have fallen for T∅P since Clancy came out, and i love that i can put them on - any song, any album - without dealing with language. Love these guys and their art.

I (someone who does curse kind of a lot) don’t know if I really agree with him on this (I often swear to add intensity to what I’m saying and still use intentional wording, I can get the same feelings across without swearing, it’s just that I want to use the social stigma around cursing to really drive my point home), but I definitely respect it. It’s also really nice to have music I like that I can actually add to class playlists lol

So then, is it a last resort for the crowd to chant "here we f***ing go" during Trees at concerts? Is there just not another word that we can use to chant/get pumped up for the closing of the concert? The swearing there just seems unnecessary.

Tyler: Deep, long and thoughtful explanation to the question Josh: drom-beets No but I've never thought of it before actually, that there is not one single explicit mark on their songs. I think not swearing and explaining a feeling or something else through other ways of describing it is simply poetic and creates nuance. Not saying swearing can't be used poetically, but it often comes across as harsh, sudden and one dimensional when human experiences, situations and feelings have so many layers to them.

It felt like I was falling in love with everyone on that stage. So much passion in power out into a performance, with Meg herself being a highlight! Makes me wish I could’ve seen it in person, but I’m glad I saw it nonetheless~ ❤

This is why I don't like the crowd during the live shows during Trees when they go "here we... here we... here we f-ing go", it feels disrespectful to the music

All love to TOP and Tyler, and I disagree somewhat with the opinion that swear words are not as creative or are a last resort to expresssing artistic ideas well. Might not be his prefered way of expressing, but many artists have fully realized works utilizing swear words to communicate their artistic message. Words are a tool, a vehicle for expression, whether percieved "good" or "bad". Kudos to Tyler for staying true to his choice of expression, and I wish his explaination of why he chooses to avoid swear words didn't make other artists sound lazy or their work not as creative or realized-- I didn't his take on that, and I think that's not really what he meant to say

Wow that's so true!! Tyler shows true talent in writing songs without using curse words. His lyrics have deep meaning and raw emotion. TOP will always be my favorite band❤💛❤💛
